Have you explored all the great places to eat in the NorthWest?

When you are thinking about a night out, do you think that you have to venture into Auckland City itself to have a great dining experience? When you live in the NorthWest, the eating options are endless and you don’t even have to leave the greater Neighbourhood! There is a huge variety in the type of eating places you can experience within a 15km radius of Riverhead, Kumeu and Huapai.

Beginning with the start of the weekend, Friday nights kick off with live music at Hallertau from 5:30pm, with a casual relaxed vibe that means you can sit back and let the working week disappear and the weekend kick in. The menu offers something for everything with sharing plates and pizzas for the table or delicious mains just for yourself. You will find you want to come back again, which is all good as there is live music on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30pm too.

If weekends are all about long and relaxed breakfasts, then heading down to The Riverhead may just suit you, with a bottomless brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Eat brunch while enjoying a mimosa, a glass of prosecco or a Bloody Mary.

The best thing about Sundays is enjoying a delicious Roast Dinner, but if you don’t want to cook one yourself then you are spoilt for choice. The Riverhead offers Roast Dinner every Sunday with the meat of choice changing from week to week. The Beekeepers Wife also offers a delicious Sunday Roast, and you can eat this from 2pm!

Mondays can be super full on sometimes, especially if you have children, so if you can’t face cooking, pop down to The Riverhead on Monday or Tuesday and the kids eat free. The menu is extensive and the kids get a goodie bag full of colouring in and stickers to keep them occupied while you enjoy your dinner.

In Coatesville on Tuesdays in September, you will find the Black Cottage Café hosting a ladies bottomless lunch which includes mains, desserts and unlimited Prosecco or Wine – what a great excuse to get a bunch of friends together for a catch up, and enjoy a delicious meal with great company to boot.

Just as you hit hump day Wednesday, your options for dining increase! The Hunting Lodge in Waimauku offers a Locals Only Dinner with a different select menu of dining options each week and complimentary glass of wine (although I do think they let non-locals in from time to time!). In Riverhead you can head to either Hallertau for their Wednesday night burger deal, or head down the road to The Beekeepers Wife for steak night. Although you may find yourself back at the Beekeepers Wife again on Thursday night for their Wood Fire Pizza night as well!

Another option is The Tasting Shed, which offers Date Night - a delicious couples menu – any night of the week from Wednesday to Sunday. Before you know it, it’s Friday again and you can start all over trying something new from each restaurant.

With all this on offer, it can make for a very busy week just exploring the many different offerings in the local hood. If you aren’t a local, the next time you are thinking of heading out for a night out don’t head into the city, head to the NorthWest and find your new favourite place to eat.
